Financial Planners

I grew up in South Australia where I completed my studies before travelling to the USA for 3 months to experience my first White Christmas, and take in such sights that Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Los Angeles had to offer and then a quick divert to Fiji for a couple of week on the way home. Upon returning home I decided to commence a career within the banking industry, if only to repay the cost of the trip!!

I spent several years working for Westpac Banking Corporation in various branch positions trying to keep my interest level up until one day I thought I needed something more of a challenge and seconded over to their subsidiary company, Westpac Financial Consultants, where I started my life of Branch Liaison and Client Conservation Manager. A role that was both diversified and demanding, and brought with it many challenges but with rewarding outcomes.

I continued to work with Westpac’s financial planning team for several years developing relationships between the financial advisers and the bank staff and also training the advisers in their insurance product knowledge before deciding to do something completely left field, and moved to Darwin! I had holidayed in the NT twice before when my sister had lived there and always thought it was a fabulous place. So I took the plunge and relocated. It was not long after arriving that I secured my job working for a small financial planning firm licensed with MLC (Bill Passmore & Associates) where I worked in administration and assisted with the insurance client reviews for a several years before joining another financial planning firm and becoming a licensed financial adviser specialising in Wealth Protection.

I joined the Praescius Financial Consultants team in January 2011 as their Risk Adviser and find myself now assisting many of the clients that I had previously helped at Bill Passmore’s over 10 years ago. I help to ensure all of their insurance requirements are looked after from providing the initial advice on how to protect themselves right through to assisting them and their family members at their time of need. A job I find both fulfilling and rewarding.

During my down time I love to spend it with my children who are fast growing up (16 yo twins!) and lunching with my friends. My passion is cooking and I love experimenting with a variety of food and different recipes and then hosting dinner parties to try them all out on my friends. Seafood is my absolute favourite and so I’m sure at times it must be the size of the “mud crabs” that play a big part in keeping me in this town. I mean who can go back to the little blue swimmer crabs after eating a muddy the size of a football!
