Jeff Heap

Financial Planners

Jeff Heap. Born on 2nd June 1957 and bred in Geelong, Victoria (Go Cats!). I left school at 15 to join the State Bank of Victoria (now Commonwealth Bank). At 21 the bank sent me to London for 6 months for international experience. A highlight of my time in England (+Scotland) was to play Royal & Ancient St Andrews Golf course were I parred the course with 72. Golf has been one of my passions in life & have had 6 hole in ones. One of the prizes gave me a Cruise that sank in Jakarta Harbour! I travelled most of the world for 9 months at 22 years old returning to the bank in Melbourne as an accountant at age 23. Soon after I left the bank to head for sunny Queensland (Go the mighty Maroons!). I changed occupations to join the construction industry working as labourer then to crane driver, from the Gold Coast up to Biloela (near Rockhampton). While working in Biloela I met my wife, Lyn, (July 2013 we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary) and became a Financial Planner in 1987. I spent the next 18 years in Biloela having two great children, Zana 25 (living in WA), Cali 23 (living with us). Whilst in Biloela we enjoyed a very active social life which included being a DJ (Heapy’s Disco’s). I played anything from discos in pubs & clubs to weddings and old time dances. In 2002 we all moved to Darwin where we brought a house on the golf course (Lyn, Cali and myself all play golf) and 50% of Bill Passmore & Associates. I have been a financial planner for 26 years and since selling the business in 2011 to Praescius I have stayed on looking after my valued clients 3 days per week. I still enjoy my golf, going overseas every year to play & the Darwin lifestyle.
